Upcycled Fashion Week
Dates: Monday, August 11th-Thursday, August 14th, 2025
Time: 9am-2pm
Location: Workshop St. Johns, 6635 N Baltimore Ave, Suite 273, Portland, OR 97203
In this eco-friendly sewing camp, young designers will embark on a creative journey to transform secondhand clothing into brand-new, one-of-a-kind pieces, for themselves or for a stuffed animal/doll. This camp teaches the power of upcycling while encouraging creativity, self-expression and sustainability in fashion.
Campers will take a field trip to a local pay-by-the-pound thrift store to hunt for garments and materials to upcycle. They’ll sketch out design ideas while learning about the life cycle of garments and the global impact of fast fashion.
Using hand and machine sewing techniques, campers bring their designs to life and model or display their finished upcycled garments in a slow fashion showcase!
