Modern Art Week
Dates: Monday, June 23rd-Thursday, June 26th, 2025
Time: 9am-2pm
Location: Workshop St. Johns, 6635 N Baltimore Ave, Suite 273, Portland, OR 97203
In this sewing camp, young artists will explore the exciting world of modern art through fabric and thread!
Throughout the week, participants will learn essential sewing techniques while being introduced to the work of modern artists including Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Yayoi Kusama.
Campers will design and sew unique creations inspired by the work of a modern artist—whether it’s a bold geometric wall hanging, a colorful abstract pillow, or a stitched portrait.
Participants will display their work in a gallery-like exhibition on the last day of camp. This camp encourages creativity, self-expression, and the fusion of art and sewing in a fun, hands-on environment!
Class size is limited to 6 students.
Ages 7-13. Beginners welcome. All materials will be provided. Please bring lunch & a water bottle. We will have a 1-hr lunch & movement break at Cathedral Park.
